Are you passionate about procurement strategy, supplier management and creating measurable value? As we expand our Global Indirect Procurement organization, Ivoclar is looking for a proactive Strategic Indirect Buyer to take procurement ownership for the full indirect spend portfolio across APAC and help shape its regional implementation.
In this role you will independently identify and lead end-to-end sourcing projects across a broad range of indirect categories — from spend and market analysis, supplier research and RFx processes to negotiation strategy, supplier selection and contract finalization.
Building trusted relationships with cross-functional stakeholders will be central to the role. You will proactively identify sourcing and savings opportunities, optimize commercial terms and supplier structures, manage supplier performance and deliver measurable value while supporting the implementation of global procurement standards across the region.
Your role
Strategy development
- Take strategic procurement ownership for the indirect spend portfolio across APAC, align priorities with internal stakeholders and build a regional sourcing pipeline.
- Proactively identify sourcing projects and commercial opportunities through stakeholder engagement and the analysis of spend, suppliers, contracts and demand across countries and sites.
- Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies that combine global Procurement standards with local market requirements.
- Independently lead end-to-end sourcing projects, including requirement clarification, market and supplier research, RFx processes, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiations, award and contract finalization, to secure competitive and resilient supply solutions.
Supplier management
- Select and evaluate suppliers based on qualitative and quantitative criteria
- Define and implement measures to support supplier development and continuous improvement
Contract and price negotiations
- Prepare for and lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts
- Support compliance with contractual terms and delivery agreements
- Track and report cost-saving initiatives
Cost management
- Identify savings opportunities and implement cost-reduction measures
- Prepare and monitor budget and cost analyses
- Analyze and manage supply chain risks
- Coordinate and contribute to business case analyses and make-or-buy decisions
Collaboration and communication
- Act as the key Procurement interface between the Global Procurement team and the APAC entities.
- Build trusted relationships with local stakeholders, understand and constructively challenge requirements and supplier preferences, and provide clear commercial recommendations.
- Support the global rollout of the new Indirect Procurement processes across APAC and translate global standards into practical local solutions.
- Prepare reports and present results to divisional and executive management

- Implement and comply with the requirements of the safety manual

Operational procurement experience is welcome; however, day-to-day purchase-order processing, order tracking and transactional purchasing are not the primary focus of this position.
Your profile
- At least a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, with a focus on Procurement; additional certification or training in Procurement is a plus
- Must have minimum of 3-6 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably within an international environment
- Experience with SAP, a similar ERP or eSourcing (Coupa) system is an advantage
- Good understanding of commercial contracts, purchasing terms, compliance requirements and supplier risk management
- Proven ability to independently structure and manage sourcing projects in an evolving international environment
- Fluent in business English and excellent language proficiency in Mandarin
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
