Systems Engineer – Global IT Job Summary
The Systems Engineer – Global IT is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's global IT infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, performance, security, and reliability of servers, cloud services, networks, and enterprise systems while providing technical support and driving infrastructure improvement initiatives.
Your role
Key responsibilities of this role are
- Defining and implementing global standards, technologies and processes.
- leading in the preparation and execution of IT related projects or services.
It must partner with other Ivoclar departments and organizations to continuously enhance the value of IT systems and processes.
IT-Support for internal customers as well as the partnering with suppliers and external consultants
is a key responsibility of that position.
The focus of this position is defined by the team or department responsibility an employee is assigned to. This may be a platform or software focus (like e.g. SAP Technologies) or another area within the IT Infrastructure Core/Services/Collaboration/Product IT Operations Technologies environment (including surrounding systems, but is not limited to it).
Responsibilities
· Determination of short-, mid- and long-term IT requirements in the corresponding area
· Lead, manage and control international business and IT projects or parts thereof
· Self-dependent development of improvement to processes and functionalities under consideration of customer’s benefit and profitability
· Architects, implements and supports the logical and physical server and network topologies, and provides long term applied technology consulting.
· Analyzes, monitors and optimizes/tunes the system related core technologies including database software, operating systems, system management utilities and application development tools.
· Develops software solutions to optimize the performance of IS/IT technology and resources.
· Participates in preparation and review of stress test data and performs technology oriented business cases to insure that “normal” as well as extremity conditions are fully tested.
· Strong interaction on multiple levels with people throughout all Ivoclar organizations and with suppliers, functional and cross-functional, to provide the appropriate IT technologies to increase operational efficiency
· Handling and development of change requests together with process experts, project managers or other functional department leaders
· Collection of information from software suppliers regarding bug fixes, updates, support etc.
· Securing that new requirements will be implemented within standard functionality in order to guarantee maintenance of the software
· Planning and execution of trainings for world-wide 1st level Service Desks, creation of training documentation and general documentation Implementation and fulfillment of the safety manual’s requirements
· Implementation and fulfillment of the safety manual’s requirements
· Implementation and fulfillment of the personnel handbook’s requirements
· Implementation and fulfillment of the regulatory requirements
· Acts as a role model in accordance with the Corporate Values of the Ivoclar Group
Your profile
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Technical Informatics, Business Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar IT environment or role.
· Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure, IT Operations (e.g., SAP Basis), and SQL database management.
· Hands-on experience with Microsoft SCOM (System Center Operations Manager)
· Proven experience in programming and scripting languages.
· Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information in a structured and methodical manner.
· Strong written communication and documentation skills.
· Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
· Fluent in spoken and written English.
· Solid project management capabilities.
